With the College Valley to the North and Ingram Valley to the South West, Yearle nestles on the entrance to the Harthope Valley and is flanked by areas of National Parkland and encompassed within the Cheviot range of hills.

The imposing landscape is certainly dramatic and an ideal environment for the pigs to thrive in. While it's not clear if the pigs appreciate their marvellous surroundings, visitors to the area are often left yearning to come back to the area that has affectionately been dubbed "the secret kingdom".

While Yearle nestles quietly on its own, the bustling market town of Wooler lies just a short drive away. Described as "one of the last bastions of rural life" by a visitor, Wooler carries all the local amenities one could need along with many traditional pubs and some fine places to stay. Known as the "Gateway to the Cheviots" Wooler is the traditional starting point for those setting out to walk amid the many hills.

Away to the east lies the raucous North Sea, where the scenery changes from rolling hills to an equally breathtaking coastline filled with visual memories of Northumberland's often turbulent past. Bamburgh Castle provides one of the most dramatic sites to grace the coastline. Perched high upon a basalt outcrop overlooking the golden sand of the beach below, it truly is worth the journey.

So, if you like the look of our courses, why not make a weekend out of it and spend some time exploring the fantastic area that surrounds Yearle!

* Yearle is marked as Earle on all OS maps!
